Carto Proposes Document Forger for IHR Board of Directors (5/30/2001)

As part of a proposed third settlement between Liberty Lobby and IHR’s parent corporation, Legion for the Survival of Freedom (LSF), Liberty Lobby CEO Willis Carto is suggesting that a known criminal and document forger be appointed to the LSF board of directors. Carto further proposed placing this same criminal on the board of Liberty Lobby, in a twisted facsimile of reciprocity.

The forger, who goes by the alias of Gregory Douglas, has written for and appeared in The SPOTLIGHT, and has been a good friend of Carto since Liberty Lobby started selling Douglas’ fraudulent books purporting to contain post-war information about former Gestapo chief Heinrich Müller. Douglas has been denounced by David Irving and Mark Weber (most recently in an article in the March/April 2001 Journal of Historical Review).

In contrast, Carto, who fancies himself to be a great revisionist, has clasped Douglas to his bosom, publicized fraudulent Douglas utterances as the truth, and authorized Douglas to negotiate on behalf of Liberty Lobby in legal matters.

The move to place Douglas on the LSF/IHR board is only the latest attempt by Carto to seize control of the IHR, so that he can avoid accountability for millions of dollars he illegally diverted in the early 1990s.
